The ZAK | Centre for Cultural and General Studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the "Wissenschaftsbüro" of the "Stadtmarketing Karlsruhe GmbH" are pleased to present the second edition of the »Karlsruhe Science Film Days« as part of the EFFEKTE Science Festival.
The ZAK is a central academic unit at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) that promotes the interdisciplinary and intercultural education. The Centre supports both the interdisciplinary exchange at the KIT and the dialogue between science and society. In this sense, the ZAK provides a crucial service to ensure the social responsibility of the KIT in Research, Education and Innovation in a sustainable way. By means of public science events, the ZAK communicates current research results and developments to an interested audience, and puts relevant topics up for discussion. The “Wissenschaftsbüro” belongs to the “Stadtmarketing Karlsruhe GmbH". In collaboration with partners from science, economy and administration, it conceives campaigns and projects to promote Karlsruhe as a center for science and technology as well as to increase the attractiveness of the city among students and scientists. Successful projects are, e.g., the primary residence-campaign for students, the initiative “Wohnraum für Studenten”, which caused a sensation 2012 in Baden-Wuerttemberg, and the Science Festival EFFEKTE.
